Learning Support Programme
Accreditation: ECIS and NEASC

Founded in 1963, the school caters for children,of all nationalities who are in Oslo for a short period or who intend to continue with an English language education.

It provides a British-type academic programme with strong international elements. Group work and individual tuition as prominent features of the type of teaching given. Non-English speaking children receive a course of EAL. The school is a centre for London University GCSE and Cambridge IGCSE examinations.'It prepares candidates for the main academic subjects with French, German, Spanish, art, drama, food science, DT and ICT included. Parents can arrange with the Principal to have special examinations sent to the school if desired. From the age of 16 the school provides a course leading to International Baccalaureate.

All teachers are experienced and fully qualified, a large percentage being university graduates, and most of the staff are permanently resident in Norway.

The children are of many nationalities and normally remain for an average of two/three years. School hours are from 9am to 3pm. The school year is from late August to late June. A variety of extra- curricular activities are available, many organized with help from parents. Swimming is taught from Reception to Year 1 1. Skiing instruction is part of the programme for some classes in all sections of the school in winter.

The school is in a suburban area about fifteen minutes' drive from Oslo. There is good playground space and additional access to nearby sports fields and sports hall/swimming hall. The Junior and Secondary schools are situated in the large main building and the Infant School in the smaller one. 'There are 50 classrooms in all, three laboratories, two computer rooms, two libraries, a cookery room, a gymnasium and a music and drama room.

Application forms are sent on request and interviews arranged before the child starts.
