Working through a course
- Your nominated course administrator will give you the
school's username and password, allowing you to log on to
the particular course(s) you choose.
- Once you're registered as a student with Fieldwork
Online Training, you will be given your own unique password
protected access to the courses of your choice. You can then
log on and log off the course whenever is convenient for you
- at home, at school, or elsewhere.
- You get clear and specific instructions in the
Introduction to each course. We explain:
- how the course works
- the intended learning outcomes
- whether you need to have access to particular
resources as you work through it
- what extra reading might be useful
- how to make the best of the course
- Each course is divided into four learning modules
(occasionally a course will have three or five modules).
Each module is designed so that there will be about two
hours work to complete at the computer, usually online, and
around another two hours work on tasks such as action
research in school, reading, discussion with colleagues, or
follow up work with a class, with a group, or with an
individual pupil.
- You record your own learning through each course in your
online Student book. This is a unique feature of our courses
which allows you to make notes online and record your
responses to activities. You can print off the completed
Student book and keep it for future reference. You may want
to include any useful pages in your professional development
portfolio.
- As you work through a course, you can join with a wider
learning community via the online Discussion boards. Here
you can exchange ideas and opinions with students doing the
same course as you.
- When you finish all the modules in the course, you
receive a Certificate of Participation, for you to keep in
your record of professional development activities.
