Aiglon is an independent, non-profit, coeducational, international boarding school run on British independent school lines with 57 nationalities represented. It is situated on a 25-acre alpine site 2,500 feet above the Rhone Valley. There are four houses for girls and four for boys, each with its own houseparents. The teacher/pupil ratio is 1:6. Facilities include a new computer centre, eight laboratories for science and languages, and new maths, art and music departments.

All courses except foreign languages are taught in English. French is compulsory in most classes. The preparatory class (ages 9-1 1) is conducted in a totally bilingual environment, with pupils following 50% of their courses in French.

The Lower School curriculum consists of English, French, history, geography, mathematics, general science, computer literacy, art, music, drama and religious knowledge. Biology, chemistry, physics, German and Spanish are added in the Middle School. In the Upper School fifth form students take seven or eight courses leading to GCSE.

In the sixth form two year courses lead to GCE A level, which may qualify for US Advanced Placement. The school is a centre for US College Board and TOEFL. Virtually all graduates go on to universities and colleges in the USA, UK and Europe.

The rigorous academic programme is complemented by a high degree of pastoral care and a challenging programme of sports activities, including skiing, tennis, soccer, athletics, gymnastics, swimming, basketball and volleyball. Expeditions into the mountains and to European cultural centres take place throughout the year. Admission is by examination, interview and previous school record. Scholarships may be awarded to candidates of outstanding merit.
