The Prague British School is the new name for
the British International School, Prague. The school was founded
in 1992 to serve both the Czech and international communities in
Prague. The school opened as Prague British School in September
2007.
PBS is an independent English language,
multinational day school, providing a British education for
children aged between 20 months and 18 years.
Pupils up to Year 9 follow the National Curriculum for England.
Pupils in Years 10 and 11 follow the International General
Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), followed by the
International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma in years 12 and 13.
Classes throughout the school are small which allows for
carefully planned individual programmes of study where needed.
All instruction is in English with extensive support for
children for whom English is not a first language. We pride
ourselves in our high academic standards as proven by our
results. Having introduced the IGCSE programme in 1996 and the
IB two years later, our students constantly achieve results well
above the UK average and in line with independent UK schools.
Students in the primary school take the UK National Curriculum
Standard Assessment Tests (SATs) and results consistently exceed
the UK national guidelines. |
All teaching staff are highly qualified and
experienced graduate teachers, with relevant experience of the
National Curriculum, IGCSE and IB programmes. All the language
teachers are specialist native speakers.
